LET US CALIBRATE YOUR SENSOR AT OUR FACTORY.
ON DEMAND, YOUR SPARE SENSOR IS FRESHLY-CALIBRATED IN OUR FACTORY AND SHIPPED OUT.
The Sensor Calibration & Exchange Program schedules delivery of factory-calibrated sensors to the customer’s plant or facility, replacing sensors in use — a HOT SWAP in the field. This Transportable Calibration capability is enabled by our advanced Smart Sensor attributes in the combustible, toxic, and oxygen SensAlert or SensAlarm Plus Series sensors.
Transportable Calibration is inherent in every SensAlert, SensAlert Plus, SensAlert ASI, SensAlarm, and SensAlarm Plus gas detection instrument. It is a function of how the Plus Series Smart Sensors retain integrity of calibration data and seamlessly share that data with the transmitter. When the sensor is installed into the transmitter sensor head, data and values are uploaded to the transmitter from the on-board, non-volatile memory. Uploaded data includes gas type, sensor range, and calibration and exposure data.
Factory calibration and hot-swapping provides an alternative to in-field calibration and minimizes transmitter downtime. It's especially beneficial for remote sensor locations where onsite calibration would be difficult and costly to access, and beneficial where time is of the essence to perform maintenance.
Customer's sensors are stored in our refrigerated storage facility until the next scheduled calibration interval. Prior to shipment, the sensors are calibrated and tested in our lab that has been certified by Factory Mutual (FM), securely packaged, and shipped along with the calibration certificate to the Customer’s plant or facility. The Customer installs the fresh sensor into the transmitter, hot-swapping out the old sensors which are returned back to Sensidyne for storage until the next calibration cycle.
Customers may select calibration intervals of 30, 60, or 90 days based their company's Preventative Maintenance Schedule. To enroll in the Sensor Calibration & Exchange Program, purchase of a spare sensor set and commitment to one-year of service is required. Standard warranties apply which do not cover misuse, neglect, excessive gas exposure, or other abnormal application conditions causing premature sensor failure. For optimal performance, we recommend that sensors are calibrated at regular intervals.
