Sensidyne Sensor Calibration and Exchange Program
The Sensor Calibration & Exchange Program schedules delivery of factory-calibrated sensors to the customer’s plant or facility. We're able to offer this Transportable Calibration because of the advanced SMART sensor features in the combustible or toxic SensAlert or SensAlarm sensors.
Transportable Calibration is a feature of every SensAlert, SensAlert Plus, SensAlert ASI, SensAlarm, and SensAlarm Plus gas detection instrument, and is a function of both the smart sensor and the transmitter. When the sensor is installed into the transmitter sensor head, data and values are uploaded to the transmitter from the on-board non-volatile memory. Uploaded data includes gas type, sensor range, and calibration and exposure data. Transportable calibration enables sensor calibration at one location and installation in another - this is especially beneficial in large facilities or difficult-to-access sensor locations where sensors can be calibrated in the comfort of the instrument shop then field installed.
Customer's sensors are stored in our refrigerated storage facility until the next scheduled calibration interval. Prior to shipment, the calibrated sensors are tested in our lab that has been certified by Factory Mutual (FM), calibrated, securely packaged, and shipped along with the calibration certificate to the Customer’s plant or facility. Upon receipt of the calibrated sensors, the Customer removes the sensor from its packaging and installs the sensor into the transmitter. Old sensors are placed into the plastic sensor container and returned to Sensidyne for storage and the next calibration cycle.
Customers may select calibration intervals of 30, 60, or 90 days based their company Preventative Maintenance Schedule. To initiate the Sensor Calibration & Exchange Program, purchase of a spare sensor set and commitment to one-year of service is required. Standard warranties apply which do not cover misuse, neglect, excessive gas exposure, or other abnormal application conditions causing premature sensor failure. For optimal performance, we recommend that sensors are calibrated at regular intervals.
