Customers love the automatic sensor recognition and set-up of the 4-Channel Controller. SensAlert and PLUS Transmitters send sensor data to the Controller on power-up for set-up on the gas name, range, measuring units and default alarms for each input channel.
Gas sensors and transmitter types can be mixed and still recognized for automatic set-up. For instance, in a dry well application with local or remote sensors, Oxygen, Hydrogen Sulfide and Methane are commonly measured. Odor control duct work may require monitoring as well. SensAlert, or the newer SensAlert PLUS technology can be used.
Four more sensors are now recognized by the 4-Channel Controller to make it even easier for the user. These sensors include 0-50% LEL Acetylene Infrared, 300 PPM Ammonia, 20 PPM SO2 (Filtered), and H2 LEL Specific. Vist this link for an illustrative one-line drawing.
This PDF file shows all sensors, and in the right hand column lists 4-Channel compatibility.
Quick Tip:SensAlert transmitters always send sensor data unless disabled by the user for connection to other devices. PLUS transmitters ship with this feature turned off and the user must enable 4-20 mA ???ID??? communication in the configuration menu. This is because so many PLUS units are connected to a DCS or PLC.
